The Two Practices I enjoyed the most

The two practices I enjoyed the most were the "Subtle Mind", and the "Deep Breathing" exercises.  I have had a lot of stress in the past two years, with losing my job, going through bankruptcy, having my home foreclosed on, luckily I was able to save it, a brother dying of cancer on our Dad's birthday, and the Subtle Mind exercise or any like it are most helpful when my mind is just a "rush-hour" of worries, each trying to push their way to the front of my attention.  Often I use it several times a day, just to regain my inner calmness, and put things into a simpler perspective.  Also I use the "deep-breathing" at least twice a day, at bedtime and often at other times of the day if I remember either while waiting on hold on the phone, or at the computer.

  1. I am so terribly sorry you have been going through so much. In times like these it is good to have a way to forget your troubles and take a deep breath. I hope that these two practices help you through and reassure you that there is always a reason to keep your chin up, though you may not see that yet, I pray you will! I am glad you have found two practices to help you!

  2. Deep breathing certainly helps with dealing with stress. I hate being stressed and I do try to take some deep breaths and try to regain my focus and my center. I haven't been able to get the hang of subtle mind yet.

  3. I know what you mean...we had our 2 child in december of 08, we were both laid off from really good jobs in march and april of 09, had our house taken from the bank and went through bankruptcy just to keep our 2nd from suing us, had our vehicle repossessed, and then my husband got a job that paid less than unemployment and for the most part the county told us we make too much money for support...it was a tough time but our faith in God brought us through as we have never gone without. It taught us a valuable lesson ~ you do not need material things to be happy. We were told that we were the happiest unemployed couple anyone had ever met. We are still struggling but I know it wont always be this way. I look forward to the future and am thankful that I have a fabulous husband and the best kids! I am happy anywhere when I have them!!!

  4. So sorry to hear of your troubles but happy to see that you've found some way to help ease some of your stress. All of us have to manage with stress in our lives but how we deal with it is the main thing. If I wasn't able to breath deep and meditate every once in a while I'd probably have a nervous breakdown.
I hope your situation gets better! Take care of yourself and good luck!
